What is Mindfulness & Lifestyle Wellness Coaching?

A little more about me

Amy Noelle MPT

Certified Mindfulness Coach ~ Mindfulness Program Developer ~ Physical Therapist

My name is Amy Noelle and I am the founder of STILL, Orange County’s resource for Mindfulness, Performance & Lifestyle Wellness. I am a physical therapist, certified mindfulness coach, Pilates trainer and mom to two beautiful tween daughters.

I am certified in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Mindful Performance Enhancement, Awareness and Knowledge (mPEAK) from the UCSD Center for Mindfulness, Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. After studying psychology at UCSD, I attended Chapman University receiving my graduate degree in physical therapy.  I have worked as an orthopedic manual therapist with advanced training in Cranialsacral Therapy and Lifestyle Medicine.  As a physical therapist for over 20 years, I was able to impact physical dysfunction with manual therapy skills, but recognized that the physical body is only one piece of the puzzle for achieving true wellness and in turn, happiness. My own personal practice of mindfulness and self-compassion created such an amazing transformation in my own life that I have become a life long learner and am passionate about sharing this powerful practice with my clients, coaching to reconnect the body’s physical, mental, and emotional states, unlocking inner resources for resilience and peak performance.

I founded STILL to bring lifestyle wellness and mindfulness training to individuals and corporations with a focus on peak performance, well being and happiness in all areas of life. I work with various groups, as a coach and speaker, including corporate leadership teams, health care teams, teacher and parents, bringing awareness practices for self-regulation, greater balance, and self-acceptance, resilience and true wellness: mind, body, and spirit.
I teach courses and provide coaching throughout Orange County and believe deeply that through mindful and compassionate awareness we have the capacity to reconnect to our own inner resources, unlocking our inner wisdom and achieving our fullest potential.

Lifestyle wellness is a scientific approach to decreasing disease risk and illness burden by utilizing lifestyle interventions such as nutrition, physical activity, mindfulness, self-compassion, and behavior management.  Lifestyle wellness is the recommended and foundational approach to preventing and treating many chronic diseases as well as attaining or regaining peace, and happiness in all areas of our lives.

There is movement in stillness

We believe the mind is the key to true wellness. Using the biopsychosocial model, we equip each client with the skills to mobilize their inner resources for stress resiliency, focus, personal empowerment and peak performance.  Scientifically proven brain-based practices such as mindfulness, self-compassion, and mental performance coaching helps us to meet life's challenges with skill and ease, which in turn allows us to maximize performance, make healthier choices and behavioral change.

Exercise is medicine

From a physiological model we believe exercise is an essential element for the prevention of and the return from chronic illness and pain. As the physical movement specialists, Physical Therapists are uniquely qualified to develop appropriate exercise prescriptions and provide necessary manual intervention for the individual needs of our client, with and without a medical diagnosis.

Connection is essential

Relationships often are the first thing to deteriorate when our live's are out of balance or we are suffering with chronic pain or stress. When we are in pain, emotionally or physically, we often feel disconnected from those around us or isolate ourselves from our social support network.  Unfortunately this also deprives us of the body's natural pharmacy of pain relieving endorphins we receive from social connection.  We provide classes for peer support as well as coaching in healthy communication and boundary setting to restore healthy relationships and build social networks.
